The athlete who has made a name for herself in American society. She is one of only six women who have triumphed in all five skiing alpine World Cup events. Overall, she's been awarded an impressive 82 World Cup championships. The top skier in the world and the top American racer of all time in skiing has announced her retirement following this year's World Championship in Sweden. Her retirement came after a long list of ailments. Social media was her way to announce her retirement.
